WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW women’s soccer (5-2-0) has clinched at least a share of the CAA South Division title and a spot in the upcoming CAA Tournament.

Due to the limited schedule brought on by Covid-19, the Colonial Athletic Association split up into two divisions, north and south, consisting of five teams each for this year’s soccer season.

The Seahawks are perfect in CAA play at 3-0-0, having defeated Elon, College of Charleston, and William & Mary in Mar. They can clinch sole ownership of the South Division title with a win to close out the regular season against James Madison on Saturday, April 10 in the UNCW Soccer Stadium.

“What a relief to have clinched a CAA tourney spot with a match still to play,” said Heach Coach Chris Neal. “These student-athletes are so deserving and have earned this feeling.”

The CAA tournament will take place in Towson, Maryland on Thursday, Apr. 15, and Saturday, Apr. 17, and will consist of the top four teams in the CAA. As it stands, those teams will be UNCW, Northeastern, Hofstra, and Elon, but is subject to change.
