WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW men’s basketball Head Coach Takayo Siddle has been busy since the season ended for the Seahawks earlier this month. On Mar. 28, Jaylen Fornes announced he will be returning to UNCW for the upcoming 2021-22 season.

Fornes last played at UNCW during the 2018-19 season when he averaged just over seven points per game. He makes the second recruit Siddle has landed in the previous three days. The other being James Baker Jr., a grad transfer from Morehead State.

The 6-foot-3 guard is coming off a redshirt senior season with Nicholls State. He and the Colonels made it all the way to the Southland Conference Championship before losing to Abilene Christian.

Seahawk nation hopes Fornes will bring a little championship experience to next year’s team, as the former Seahawk was a part of the 2017 CAA Championship squad in what would end up being Kevin Keatts’ last year in the Port City.
