Perhaps Wilmington’s most important annual film event, Cucalorus is especially known for showcasing eclectic short films and feature films that attendees may otherwise never have a chance to see. And in the footsteps of renowned festivals such as Venice and Toronto, Cucalorus has opted to screen films despite the pandemic—only this time, they’ve taken necessary measures to ensure the safety of the patrons.

The series is a frothy 10-episode ode to millennials and an American ideal of Paris. There is little in the show that holds ties to reality. It’s as if the show’s creator, Darren Star—known for “Sex and the City”—sought to create a fantasy experience completely removed from the realities of being a 20-something abroad in Paris.
