Why Danielle Bradbery will win “The Voice” and more

“The Voice” is the highest rated show on television right now.  Since the original judges slowly started dwindling away in 2009, “American Idol” ratings have been dropping. Now it is the NBC series “The Voice” that rules reality television.

The show has received much of its acclaim for its more interesting setup, such as the “blind audition” process and the way the contestants are assigned to teams and mentored by the judges.  The only problem is that “American Idol” has a rich history of producing superstars (think Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry, Kellie Pickler, David Cook, Adam Lambert, Phillip Phillips), while “The Voice” is yet to produce a contestant that goes on to make any significant impact to the Billboard Hot 100.

This season, that is going to change. 16-year-old contestant Danielle Bradbery will not only win season four of “The Voice,” but will go on to be the best selling new artist in country music.

Before auditioning for “The Voice,” the Texas native had never had a vocal lesson or performed in front of a big crowd.  Despite her inexperience, she has been pitch perfect so far this season and continues to amaze everyone with her stage presence and charisma.  She possesses the charm of a young girl while displaying the maturity of a professional.

The best decision she made was choosing Blake Shelton as her coach.  Not only is he an expert in the field of country music, but his contestants have also won the past two seasons. He continues to dominate- he possessed half of the top 6 contestants this year.

What is truly amazing, however, is Bradbery’s chart performance on iTunes.  She currently has five singles sitting in the country top 200.  For perspective, the reigning “king of country music” Brad Paisley has three singles in the top 200.

Blake Shelton praised his contestant’s music sales on Twitter, tweeting: “And that ladies and gentlemen is how a star is born”–until he realized she bumped his song from the number one spot and later declared: “Ummm… Ok @Dbradbery it’s not cute anymore… I want my spot back!! I’ve created a monster!!!”

To add her incredible musical success, Danielle has formed an image for herself built from her innocence and her classic country-girl look.  America loves to see the story of an average American teenager improbably rising to success.  With the help of Shelton’s connections in the country world, Bradbery will undoubtedly go on to have an illustrious career doing what she loves.
