Freshly fallen snow covered the ground of University of North Carolina Wilmington campus on Jan. 21. Photos of the freshly fallen snow, taken by Joe Bowling, capture the rare weather that swept through New Hanover County. According to the National Weather Service, New Hanover County received 3.9 inches of snow from Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. The last heavy snow in New Hanover County was in 2018 with 3.8 inches of snow.
