Monday, Sept. 13

Movie in the Park: “Reckless Isolation”

Come find your waves with this new surf movie that features five lifelong friends. The film begins at 8 p.m. and is located at Wrightsville Beach Parks and Recreation.

Tuesday, Sept. 14

Leadership Lecture with Nadine Strossen

Guest speaker Nadine Strossen is the former leader of the ACLU. Strossen will discuss her work and answer questions from attendees. The meeting will be over Zoom at 7 p.m.

Classic Movie: “The Bridge On The River Kwai”

Jump back to the 1950s with this classic movie presented by Thalian Hall in downtown Wilmington. The film won seven Academy Awards, and tells the story of British prisoners of war who are tasked with building a bridge. Tickets cost $11.77 and there are shows at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

UNCW Men’s Soccer Game

Come cheer on the men’s soccer team as they play against Charlotte. Admission costs $3 to $8 and the game begins at 7 p.m.

Satellite Bar and Lounge Movie at Sundown: O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Satellite Bar and Lounge present their next movie at sundown. Join them for craft beer and a good time at their rustic themed tavern. The film starts at dusk.

Wednesday, Sept. 15

ACE Films Goose Chase Challenge

Join ACE for their film scavenger hunt. The event begins 8 a.m. and continues until Sept. 19 at 5 p.m.\

Popular Grove Farmer’s Market

Get outside! The farmer’s market located at the Popular Grove Plantation features a relaxing morning spent outside in the beautiful countryside. The event is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and there is no charge.

Fireworks by the Sea and Boardwalk Blast

Celebrate the end of summer with fireworks by the ocean and reggae music on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Music begins at 6:30 p.m. and the fireworks begin at 9 p.m. There is no charge for admission.

Friday, Sept. 17

Summer Sci-fi at the Mansion: Little Shop of Horrors

Stumble back into 1960s “horror” with this fun, goofy film. Located at the Bellamy Mansion, the doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the film begins at 8 p.m. Admission costs $5.

7th Annual Dragon Boat Regatta and Festival

Featuring live music, food, beer and soda this festival takes place at Carolina Beach near Canal Drive. The dragon boats are painted bright colors and show beautiful artisanship. The festival begins on Friday night at 6 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 18

UNCWeekends Riverboat Tour

Cruise down the Cape Fear River and explore the beauty of both the downtown Wilmington Riverwalk and Eagle Island, plus hear stories about Wilmington’s history. Tickets cost just $5 and the event begins at 4 p.m. You can reserve your ticket on Wavelink.

Free Movies at the Lake: “The Princess and the Frog”

Join Carolina Beach Lake Park for a ride down the bayou. Come watch “The Princess and The Frog” for free outside. The movie begins at 8:45 p.m.

Standup Comedy with Basile

The Dead Crow Comedy Room presents their next live comedy show. If you want to hear a funny story, pay attention to Basile’s use of improv and characters. Admissions cost $18 to $28 and there is a show at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

UNCW Men’s Soccer

Come cheer on the UNCW Men’s soccer team as they face Longwood. The game begins at 6 p.m. and admission costs$3 to $8.

Cape Fear Museum joins Smithsonian Museum Day

Enjoy free entry with your museum day ticket. Cape Fear Museum features local history and science exhibits for educational purposes, as well as an opportunity to learn about history and science in an interactive and engaging environment. The doors open at 9 a.m.

Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade

Downtown Wilmington’s celebration of this early Irish holiday will begin at 11 a.m. Enjoy music, a parade and a classic Irish-themed celebration.

Sunday, Sept. 19

Bluewater Summer Patio Sessions

Bluewater Grill presents music by the water. Every Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., enjoy food, drinks and laughter by the intracoastal waterway on the way to Wrightsville Beach. Admission is free and the band is subject to change.
