WILMINGTON – Pitcher Landen Roupp became the second Seahawk in a row to win Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week honors, following Zarion Sharpe who was co-Pitcher of the week last week.

On Friday, the junior held Kentucky to two singles, only walking four batters and racking up five strikeouts. Roupp led UNCW to a big win over Kentucky, the first win over a power five team for the Seahawks since knocking off Ohio State in the 2018 NCAA Greenville Regional.

This season, Roupp has accumulated a 3-0 record on the mound with only a 0.47 earn run average and has limited opponents to a 0.197 batting average.

The Seahawks are up to a 9-3 record under first-year head coach Randy Hood as they prepare for North Carolina Central on Wednesday at 2 p.m., followed by a three-game series with Memphis this coming weekend. All four matchups are at Brooks Field.
