UNC Wilmington baseball snapped its streak of 10 straight Opening Day victories with a 4-2 loss to Saint Joseph’s on Friday afternoon at Brooks Field. Junior pitcher Luke Gesell made his sixth career start after appearing in relief all of last season. He pitched a career-high five innings, but the Seahawks were undone by four errors. They made things interesting in the bottom of the ninth, but first baseman Kep Brown stranded the tying runs on base with a pop-out to shallow left field.
