Holiday Shopping on the Internet

Holiday shopping is stressful, especially for those last minute shoppers; but there is a way to avoid the hassle.

Internet shopping s becoming more popular every second. Recent advances in technology have made it easier for people to keep up with their fast-paced lives. The Internet allows people to talk to their friends, look up information on any subject, download music and even shop in the comfort of their own home.

“There’s no lines, pushy salespeople or rude customers to get in your way,” post-senior Kelly Porter said. “You’re not limited by the stores and selections in your area. If you can imagine it, you can buy it on the Internet.”

Web sites like Amazon.com and Ebay allow surfers to buy a wide variety of items. They also carry hard to find items such as obscure movies and out-of-print books.

“Internet shopping is great; you can find anything,” senior Rodney Hedrick said. “Ebay is the best site to use to find anything you need.”

Amazon carries a wide variety of items, and it is also linked with several department stores. Toy-R-Us and Target stores link to site, as well as several bargain outlet stores.

The parking lot in front of Walmart is full nearly twenty hours a day, but to avoid the crowds, visit Walmart.com, which contains all of their products ready for online ordering.

The Disney Store also has a online site containing it’s array of products. From vintage Mickey Mouse watches and Tinkerbell lapel pins to a Winnie-the-Pooh collection of ornaments for the Christmas tree, disney.store.go.com has everything.

There are many obscure stores online that could be perfect for the holiday season. Hubcaps.com is a good site for anyone deprived of the privilege of car hubcaps, and for those people who know the power of cheese, www.ilovecheese.com has the perfect gift.

There are plenty of opportunities to find new gadgets on-line with a wide array of products. Hammacherschlemmer.com carries everything from coil spring shoes to grooming products. The British site www.awickedgift.co.uk contains products not currently on the American market.

Grocery shopping is also an online perk for creating that Thanksgiving extravaganza or Christmas dinner surprise.

Anything is available online and it will get shipped right to your house or the house of the receiver, without the usual holiday shopping hassles.
