There will be an open forum held on Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. in the University Union, (room 100), where the prospects of a future UNCW football team will be discussed. SGA is hosting the meeting and all students, faculty and surrounding communities are invited. Regional news stations will also be present at the assembly.

Several administrators have been specifically invited by SGA, including Vice Chancellor Leonard and Provost Paul Hosier. The Director of Athletics, Mike Cappacio will also be in attendance. SGA’s goal for this meeting is to gain more perspective on the overall student opinion of developing a future football program at UNCW.

“Personally I would love to see it happen. I know it won’t happen anytime soon but I would love to be able to bring my kids back here to see a UNCW football game. This meeting, however, is to help get the idea out, and I really want to base the decision on how the students feel about it,” said SGA Vice President, Cameron Thomas
