Looking for something to do this week? The Seahawk has rounded up events at UNCW and in the Wilmington community so you can start making plans.

Tuesday, Sept. 28  

Plant Swap 

Waterline Brewing is doing a plant shop. Come garden with local creatives. The event begins at 5 p.m.  

Wednesday, Sept. 29 

UNCW Men’s Soccer Game 

Kickoff is at 7 p.m. against Carolina at the UNCW soccer stadium. Admission costs $3-$8.  

Jeffrey Dallet at Barzarre  

For a combination of rock and folk music, go to Barzarre in downtown Wilmington. The concert begins at 8 p.m. and admission costs have not been announced.  

Ice Cream Social  

If you’re in the mood for a sweet treat, go to Boombalatti’s Homemade Ice Cream at 8 p.m.   

Thursday, Sept. 30  

Lady A Concert  

Come hear some country music at the Live Oak Pavillion at 7 p.m. Ticket prices vary on seating location. Purchase tickets here 

Cross Cultural Conversations 

UNCW’s Upperman African-American Culture Center creates a safe place to talk about cultural experiences, stories and education. This program is online at 12 p.m.  

UNCW Symphonic Band Concert  

The performance is in Kenan Hall and begins at 7:30 p.m. Musicians will play music from a variety of musicians. Admission is $10.  

Friday, Oct. 1  

Write Wilmington  

This is a time for student writers as well as writers in the community to come together and just write. This program takes place online at 9 a.m. and will continue every Friday until November 19.  

The Latino List Film Discussion  

This film features many influential and accomplished Latino peoples. The discussion is online and begins at 7 p.m.  

UNCW Jazz Ensemble  

The jazz ensemble performs at Beckwith Recital Hall. Music begins at 7:30 p.m. and admissions cost $10.  

Driving Miss Daisy at Thalian Hall 

Miss Daisy is a 72-year-old woman who forms a friendship with her driver, who she is reluctant to let drive her anywhere at first. The performance is at Thailan Hall at 7:30 p.m.  

Ponies and Pumpkins  

Pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting and ponies at the Wild Horse Preserve at Grayce Wind Farms. The event begins at 4 p.m. All proceeds support the wild horses.  

Saturday, Oct. 2 

Movie in the Park: Raya and The Last Dragon  

Go watch this recent Disney movie at Founders Park in Leland, NC. The film begins at 7 p.m. and there is no charge for admission.  

UNCW Men’s Soccer  

The men’s soccer team plays CAA opponent Northeastern at home at 7 p.m. Admission costs $3-$8.  

Live Music: Alternative Vision 

90s Alt-rock at The Reel Café Rooftop bar. Music begins at 7 p.m. and the cost for admission has not been released yet.  

Sunday, Oct. 3  

UNCWeekends Winddown  

To kickoff midterm week, join UNCWeekends for coffee, snacks and relaxation techniques to destress before exams. The location is currently TBD and the event is at 1 p.m.
