On Saturday afternoon, UNC Wilmington (4-3) welcomed Iona to Brooks Field for their second game of the Hughes Bros. Challenge. The Seahawks sought to rebound following a 1-0 loss to Indiana State on Friday.

The contest remained tied through 4.5 innings before Brooks Baldwin and Zachary Bridges’ respective 3 RBI and 2 RBI doubles in the bottom of the fifth would put the ‘Hawks up 8-3.

Baldwin also had an RBI homer in the fourth inning as well as an RBI single in the sixth to end the day with a career-high 5 RBIs.

UNCW went on to win 11-4, giving the Gaels their fifth straight loss to open the season.

The Diamond Hawks close out play in the Hughes Bros. Challenge on Sunday, Feb. 24 against Marshall. First pitch for that matchup is set for 1:30 p.m.
