Airlie Gardens Heritage Week Airlie Gardens' second annual "Friends of Airlie Gardens Heritage Week" opens tomorrow and runs through March 29. Activities include guided tours of the late 19th century gardens, demonstrations in floral arrangement, gardening and a Sunrise Service in honor of the late Minnie Evans, an artist who worked as a gatekeeper at Airlie Gardens. Regular admission will be charged for most events, and registration is required for some. Phi Mu sponsors Dance Marathon Phi Mu fraternity will sponsor a dance marathon to benefit the Children's Miracle Network from noon to midnight. It will be held April 1 at Hammerjax Night Club, 208 Market Street. The event will be alcohol-free. The marathon will be sponsored by Hammerjax, Pizza Hut and the SGA. Poplar Grove holds annual Herb and Garden Fair Poplar Grove Plantation's annual Herb and Garden Fair will be held March 31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vendors from all over the Cape Fear area will sell their wares on the front lawn. There will also be a number of classes from area professionals on uses of herbs, gardening tips and flower arranging.
