The new documentary, “Habitats, Heroes and Hallelujah: Stories of Hope from the North Carolina Coast,” will be played at Lumina Theater located in the Fisher Student Center at UNCW Thursday, Mar. 15 at 7 p.m.

“The 50-minute video produced by the NC Coastal Federation highlights some of the beautiful coastal areas of the North Carolina and some of the individuals who have been instrumental in saving these special places,” says Tom Grady of Star News Online.

There will also be a reception held before the show starting at 6 p.m., and both of these events are free and open to the public. People that are planning to attend are encouraged to register online, so they can have an estimation of the number of people who will be there.

The event will be hosted by Bland Simpson who is an author, songwriter, and NCCF board member. Todd Miller, the executive director of the North Carolina Coastal Federation, and Dustin Miller, the director of UNCW Media Productions will also be there to introduce the film.

The documentary was created by the North Carolina Coastal Federation. The video is only 50 minutes long, but it shows many different areas of North Carolina coasts, and many people that have helped preserve these coasts are also profiled throughout the film.

The documentary highlights different areas of the North Carolina coast, including the Outer Banks, the White Oak River, and Bird Island. This documentary will be very educational, and it will hopefully be successful in spreading the word about how important it is to continue to preserve and save the North Carolina coasts.
